    I use TinyCoreLinux on a live CD, and the Home file system is saved to an 8Gig USB. The more memory you have the better. Don't need a clunky disk.

    You could try using GParted in the Administration menu, or cfdisk from a terminal and use either to just rewrite the partition table.
