you can insert your numbers there
- use partition editor to erase the ubuntu partition
- boot from windows xp installation cd to it's console
- run fixboot and fixmbr
- reboot ( you will have xp only )
the small partition could...
AFAIK....you can have kubuntu + ubuntu + edubuntu + xfce in the same partition
since you just have to manage what GDM you will use
but if you plan to install mint.....you have to install it on...
CMIIW....
that's because all of your HW is generically support in your installation
for example....if you use ATI...then this ATI will be in that proprietary list

AFAIK...upgrading kernel will recognize some new peripheral..
about 2.6.28....it's the first kernel which implemented ext4
( http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_2_6_28 )
what about sudo apt-get update
have you activated your repository ?
sudo apt-get install -f
did you shutdown your windows properly ?
or just like what ajgreeny told you
AFAIK....in 8.04 that option is not there
but it's there on 7.10
i set samba from terminal when i used 8.04
maybe you can try supergrubdisk
what is the output of
glxinfo | grep render ?
if the direct rendering said yes
it means you can do compiz fusion :)
or gparted livecd at http://gparted.sourceforge.net
have you take a look at http://gnome-look.org/
I think it's not supported.....mine is GMA too
why did you ask about it ?
maybe you can check on http://openprinting.org/printer_list.cgi
i just want to add....
you can double click flashplayer-installer to install it
This one too, compiz works well on RV505 and radeon xpress 1250
i just have to install xorg-driver-fglrx
no need to go to ATi site.......
AFAIK...when you run ubuntu you can't resize it
why dont you try to use gparted liveCD from http://gparted.sourceforge.net
Intel is not that sucks anyway.....compiz works well on my 915M and 8258 too.....which intel is suck anyway
make sure you have shutdown your vista properly
depend on the question and how....:)
