Hi there,

I recently upgraded my server from 9.10 to 10.04 via the command prompt, pretty standard. However, I have noticed one thing that now doesn't work. Samba.

What happens is samba says that it is running, my smb.conf is the same as before, but now it does not show up on my network on the windows computers. It is like samba is ignoring the "netbios name" in the conf file.

I ran testparm, and it showed that all my shares were correctly recognised, in fact it showed everything as in the conf file, apart from "netbios name".

Has this been changed in the most recent version of samba, or is it an Ubuntu thing?

Many thanks,

Nick
